Data breach SIAE: “Stiamo valutando gli effetti dell’aggressione"

SIAE, sulla base delle evidenze ad oggi raccolte, informa i propri associati, mandanti, dipendenti, utilizzatori del repertorio che un gruppo criminale ha effettuato la copia di taluni file presenti nel sistema documentale della Società, prevalentemente file pdf.

Non appena avuta notizia dell’accesso fraudolento al proprio sistema documentale, SIAE è intervenuta bloccando l’utenza che operava a danno della Società e dei soggetti interessati dalla violazione.

Inoltre, sono state messe in atto altre misure rafforzative di sicurezza con il coinvolgimento di primarie società di Cyber Security come Feedback e da domani anche Leonardo, azienda di assoluto livello e di indiscussa capacità nella gestione degli incidenti di sicurezza, delle attività di recovery e protezione, in grado di affiancare SIAE nel fronteggiare la particolare capacità criminale degli aggressori, già noti alle forze dell’ordine.

SIAE ha altresì depositato denuncia presso la Polizia Postale e reso notifica di violazione al Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.

La Società sottolinea con fermezza che produrrà ogni sforzo per perseguire i responsabili.

SIAE sta infine proseguendo nella valutazione degli effetti dell’accesso subìto.

Si deve peraltro segnalare che purtroppo l’aggressione ha interessato file relativi a tipologie diverse:

- dati anagrafici;

- dati di contatto (mail, numeri telefonici);

- dati bancari (IBAN);

- dati riportati su documenti di identità;

- dati riportati sui moduli di adesione a SIAE relativi prevalentemente agli anni 2019 e 2020.

Tutti gli interessati riceveranno puntuale informazione sugli specifici dati che li riguardano non appena SIAE avrà terminato l’analisi del contenuto di tutti i singoli file, fornendo puntuale indicazione dei dati illecitamente carpiti che li riguardino.

On the basis of the evidence gathered to date, SIAE informs its full members, mandate members, employees, users of the repertoire, that a criminal group has made a copy of certain files contained in the Society’s document management system, mainly pdf files.

As soon as it received news of the fraudulent access to its document management system, SIAE intervened by blocking the users who were operating to the detriment of the Society and of those affected by the infringement.

In addition, other strengthening security measures were implemented with the involvement of leading Cyber Security companies such as Feedback and Leonardo, a top level company of undisputed ability in the management of security incidents, recovery and protection activities, able to support SIAE in dealing with the particular criminal capacity of the attackers, already known to the Police.

SIAE has also filed a report to the Postal Police and notified the infringement to the Italian Data Protection Authority.

The Society strongly emphasizes that it will make all efforts to prosecute the attackers.

SIAE is carrying on the assessment of the effects of the suffered cyber intrusion.

It should also be noted that unfortunately the attack involved different types of files:

- personal data;

- contact details (email, telephone numbers);

- bank details (IBAN);

- data contained in identity documents;

- data contained in SIAE membership forms mainly related to the years 2019 and 2020.

All interested parties will receive detailed information on the specific data concerning them as soon as SIAE completes the content analysis of each file, providing a timely indication of their illegally exported data.
