The Social Bodies are the General Assembly, the Supervisory Board, the Management Board, and the Board of Auditors. Their tasks and composition are regulated by the SIAE Statute.
The General Assembly is convened at least once a year by the Management Board. Among its main functions are the appointment of the members of the Supervisory Board and the deliberation of the Society's guidelines as provided by the Statute.
The President of the Management Board of SIAE is the legal representative of the Society; convenes and chairs the Assembly and the Management Board.
The Management Board determines the governance of the Society and controls its execution by the General Director; identifies the initiatives to be undertaken in the interest of the Society and for the pursuit of its institutional purposes, including the approval of the criteria for the distribution of copyright revenues and the measures of compensation for the use of works assigned to each section.
The President of the Supervisory Board is appointed from among the Councillors elected by the Assembly and convenes the Supervisory Board.
The Supervisory Board deliberates on the industrial and strategic plans of the Society prepared by the Management Board and on any amendments to the Statute; it also approves the budget and the management report proposed by the Management Board.
The Supervisory Board, by a simple majority, can appoint an Honorary President. The Honorary President must be an author and must be chosen from among the personalities of copyright who have contributed to the affirmation and development of the Society.
Within the Supervisory Board, five advisory committees are established: Music Committee; Cinema Committee; DOR Committee; Opera Committee; OLAF Committee. The committees express a mandatory but non-binding opinion to the Management Board on the criteria for the distribution of copyright and on the compensation for the use of the reference repertoire.
The Board of Auditors has control functions over the Society, as provided by the Civil Code (art. 2403-bis and following).
